The meeting took place at the agreed time and location according to the agreed agenda circulated beforehand. All partner organizations were present on the meeting and they contributed to the meeting on high level.

As the theme of the meeting was the folk costumes, every partner prepared a presentation about their countries’ folk costumes and brought some clothes or part of the costumes with themselves. These presentations encouraged open and clear communication. The participants were interested in the topic and shared their experiences, views with each other. We organized a handicraft workshop where they could acquire some new competences. They had the opportunity to see some good practices on local level as well:

we visited the local ethnographic collection in Bruty which was collected by the women working in the Új Nő Club who try to preserve old clothes, furniture, working tools, things in this way

the participants could meet on the folk costume party organizations running folk groups trying to preserve the traditions, dances, songs of our ancestors and they could see how they co-operate with each other

we visited the house of folk traditions in the neighbouring village to see how they preserved an old, fully furnitured peasants’ house and how our grandparents lived

we met the founder of the museum of dolls in folk costumes, Eszter Szobiné Kerekes  who is the president of the organization „Kultúráért és Turizmusért Társulás” and the participants could see how the folk costumes are preserved on the dolls.

The objectives of the meeting – which were achieved – were the following:

to introduce the folk costumes, traditions, culture of Slovakia to the participants

to get to know other participant countries’ folk costumes as well

to share experiences, views and discuss the topic

to give possibility to the participants to gain new competencies
